The battery should be fine for the flight to NY, it's only 6-7 hours, put it into airplane mode lower the brightness a bit and it should be fine.

Head over to the bargain alerts forum and check out the offer on the duracell 2 in 1 charger for €3.95 from some tesco's if there are any left.

There's a camping shop next door to arnotts on abbey street (dublin btw incase you're from the country!!! ha!)

Anyhow they sell something similar to this: http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0680

Might work, if you have a window seat, and of course not flying in darkness! Worth a try maybe!

Another (expensive) option is a mophie juice pack; these aren't really chargers but more battery expansion kits. They are a bit chunky but they do double your battery life and act as a case for your iPhone as well.

They have those duracell accu chargers in tesco for 3.99, i have 2 at home and they are handy to keep in the laptop bag. I think a full charge from one of them brings its back to like 60% of charge on iphone 4 (havent tried it in a while).
    Details here

Yep there is a power outlet between each seat, even in economy. It's down towards the floor so it's a little hard to spot. Just bring your standard charger and charge away..

It's not so much the airline as the aircraft?! What type of aircraft are delta using for trans atlantic? I'd presume it's Airbus, similar to Aer Lingus in which case you'll have a power socket just the same!

Aer Lingus transatlantic fleet have 1 power outlet between every 2 seats.

Delta use Boeing 767 to Atlanta and 757 to New York.
Flew recently on both but can only recall the Atlanta flight having power outlets.
And even then it wasnt in every row.

    Hope this helps.

On my trip to Auz I had two long haul flights and in both cases the seats in front had screens and USB connections. Was able to plug in USB and charge phone through it. Dont't know if it's the same with are lingus, but maybe something similar. All I know is I had two charged battery packs at the time that were a waste:rolleyes: tbh, found that I rarely used the iPhone, but mores the movies on the screen in front. Good to have the back up just in case :D

It depends on what way the airline configure them when they are ordering.

I was on a flight from Amsterdam to San Francisco before Xmas, was flying with KLM, a guy sitting in front of me had an Iphone4, he needed to charge it so he asked one of the flight attendants could he plug it in somewhere to charge, IIRC they did it no problem for him.
