hello, I notice that Pioneer CDJs are usually very expensive, so im looking for recommendations on other CDJs that are good build and reliable and have good features but are not as expensive. Ive seen ones such as Denon CDJs but have no experience with Denon.

    So any recommendations?

Mate, save good and hard and get the Pioneer ones. Ihave Pioneer CDJs 1000s MK3 and have done for a few years now and have not had one bit of trouble with them, they are imaculate!!!!! Yes they are expensive but you will get the most out of them. The denon's are good but do not touch the Pioneer ones....

    Just my personal opinion!!!!

go for pioneer cdj350s or something, you egt the build quality and "toys" but your not paying 1000e for one unit

I think the best ones for starting out are prob the CDJ 800s...Yes they are a little expensive but they are a brilliant deck..
The downside to getting these is that Pioneer are always moving forward and building new cdjs.IE: CDJ 2000 and the very slick CDJ 900...is that they might start to discontinue some of the older models as the demand will for the newer models!! .The 800s are old but good, but like i said in my last mail mate, save and save....If you can just splash the cash and get the CDJ 1000...They will last you a lifetime!!!!!

No offence to the last comment but defo do not get cdj 350s. They're blledin brutal!!!!!

What about the 400's? Ive read good things about them but no one has mentioned them, so are they very expensive or something?

Keep your eys open in the buy and sell and on done deal...You might pick up some bargains on there instead of buying brand new!!!!

Afaik the 400 has been discontinued and the 350 has replaced it, it is the budget player in the "new" range, so it shares some of the features of it's bigger siblings

The 350 is a great bang-for-buck reliable deck with midi too... the denon 1200's are bloody great too but almost the same price as the 350's and older tech ... only the 3700's (IMHO) piss all over the pioneers but at the same price.

    For budget options...

You could check out the American Audio Radius 1000 (under 400 euro) or *cough* new gemini cdj700 (2000ish clone)

    The radius gets decent reviews.

Lower Budget ? (under 400 euro a pair!)
if you are REALLY on a budget, don't need midi and just want "throwaway" gear the gemini cdj210 are an option with a nice big wheel .. just don't expect them to last.

as was posted above, the 400s were discontinued, some decnet features on them though.

The 350s are more than capable for any bedroom setup and share some features of their bigger brothers.

i was gonna buy 400s last year but didnt, if i was gonna go for cdjs now it would be a set of 350s
