Ted Baker clothes are always excellent quality, Don't shop there often as I am unsure as to whether or not they are suitable for younger adults. They can be a little expensive but worth it.

I agree, love the style and cuts but are quite expensive.

What reputation do they have on the fashion scene?

Are they seen as a high end original clothing or a cheap Hugo Boss?

I would imagine they are viewed similarly to shops on the high street, Some of their female clothing reminds me of Mango.

I've a Ted Baker top that looks really similar to one I bought in Oasis but it just feels sooooo much nicer! Washes better aswell.

Saw some amazing TB dresses in Arnotts over Christmas too, damn pricey though so didnt splurge. I got the top from a friend who was revamping her wardrobe so dont know how much it cost but I can tell you that the quality is probably woth the price imo. Dont know how the brand is viewed by the fashion pack tho.

In general overpriced, questionable quality and for me a bit too fashion forward. I have a couple of their shirts that fit me well, they were bought on sale at 50% off and i think that's all they are worth, while the material is decent the buttons are cheap plastic and the finishing wasn't great, certainly not worth the full €100 asking price. I got a decent jacket from them last year but unfortunately got it too big, sold it on then went to get another but the material had been changed and the quality just wasn't there anymore. Also had a pair of boots that fell apart after walking for five minutes, so overall not impressed.
They are a bit like Hugo Boss to me great marketing for questionable products.

Are you asking in relation to male or female fashion?

Male - love their shirt and suits. Very sharp tailoring with enough "twists" to stay edgy and stand-out.

Female - Love their natural fabric stuff. Not so keen when something is manmade fabric. Suiting is likewise sharp. They can do fantastic coats sometimes. Accessories are probably over priced.

In regard to price - I have a natural objection to paying full price for anything, so I'll always try to buy in the sales or in the outlet shop in Kildare Village.

Was particularly interested in the male side personally. I was just wondering what kind of rep they had in the fashion world.

Also what's the Ted Baker in Kildare Village like? Haven't been down.

In terms of men's clothing, Ted Baker just aren't as good as they used to be IMO.

Time was when they sold well cut clothes of good quality with a bit of a twist a la Paul Smith (like a loud suit lining or a shirt with contrast detail on the inner collar/cuff) as well as stuff which was a lot more fashion forward.

Now they really only do the flighty fashiony stuff. They do it reasonably well, but their stock suits, to take one example, just aren't what they used to be. Too much shinyness.

Caveat - haven't been over to their London stores in a while so I'm going on Irish stores only. Entirely possible that they're only getting in what they think the Irish market wants.

Just to pick up on what Dingbat said I've always felt that Teds, Thomas Pink and a couple of other 'name' brands unload their surplus stock into their non-London shops whenever they are bringing in somethin new. Clothes will be in the London shop for 3 months before we see a sight of it. Meanwhile we are being offered the remains of stock that won't sell in the main outlet.
    Just my impression.

As for Teds clothes I have to say that I like their casual shirts but only at sale price. They are not worth the full asking price.
Suits there are a bit 'meh'. They put the finishing touches to the suits, working cuff, pretty lining and so on but the suits don't drape well at all.

If you are buying for just a Brand-Name then wait for the sales.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
