Multiple polling cards for the same person?

I've possibly noticed multiple polling cards for people, registered to vote, but with polling cards sent to multiple addresses (e.g. one to the house owned by that person, and one to their parents house).
    What would the implications be?

This is very much not for my polling card, it's for one of the people I work with.

Loads of posts on here about that type of thing - the implications are the electoral process/register in this country is a joke and wide open for abuse where some seats are declared on a handful of votes sometimes.

Yup, I've two polling cards (Westmeath + Cork). Distance is too far for me to be bothered to try voting twice :D

I know people though who have polling cards in neighbouring constituances. I imagine this will exploited quite a bit. It's a joke that something like this can happen in this day and age.
