I'm half thinking about heading over to England with the car at the end of March, leaving Dublin or Dun Laoghaire Saturday evening the 26th to either Holyhead or Liverpool. Do the Wiggle Cheshire Cat on Sunday, as part of the trip I want to go to Birmingham and Oxford. Looking to sail back on the Friday to do the Marble City 200 on the Saturday. Does this appeal to anyone? Reason I'm asking here, is obviously, I want to do some cycling over there. Working off a blank canvas, pretty much in terms of where to go. I should be able to get a ferry 1/2 price and I'd hope to able to get a good rate on a hotel in Birmingham but if not it'll be cheapy hotels the whole way. Overall cost, I reckon would be about €500 between us.

Potentially interested. Depends on a few things tho.

But as an idea - if taking the car, why not drive thru England. Ferry to Belgium.
    Cycle the Belgian classics.

I have to work Saturday the 25th and I want to be back for the MCC 200, I'm back in work on Sunday 3rd. I hear ya though. Or are you on about just riding the classics routes without doing any of the sportives?
