Dell factory image question

I have a Dell Studio 17 running Windows 7. It has a 640GB dual hard drive with 320GB on C and 320GB on D. I want to free up some space on the D partition. The problem is I don't want to delete the factory image in case I need to go back to it later. I do remember I did some backing up on the drive though and would like to delete those backups.

There's a folder on the D partition called Windows Image Backup containing about 70GB worth of files. I can't tell whether this is the factory image or the backup I made ages ago. There's a folder inside called "Jason-PC" which is the name of my user account on the laptop. Because of this and the date of the files inside I'm guessing this is the backup I made. If I delete the files I'll have around 290GB of the 320GB free. Would the factory image be ok and still reside on the residual 30GB?

Could anyone out there with a similar Dell laptop tell me are factory image files visible on the D partition? Any help most appreciated!

The dell restore images aren't user accessible. Unless you F8 it when you turn on your laptop. These files are files you created.

That's brilliant! Thanks :) The factory image must be quite small then. Time to go deleting! :)
