Short time triggering redundancy... JSB

I'm in the situation where I have been gradually decreased (over the last 12 months) from 5 days to currently 2 and next month I have been asked to go down to 1 day. As 2 days was basically untenable certainly 1 day will be a non runner and I will have to ask for redundancy (I have more than covered the criteria over continuing short time to be allowed to seek redundancy)

My question is as I will be seeking JSB (on the small balance of my credits) will I be shut out because I asked for redundancy and would be thought of as leaving my job or okay and be simply considered to have been made redundant the usual way? (I think common sense says the latter but this is Ireland after all... so I'd best ask)

    Any advise would be appreciated.

If you can ask your employer about a redundancy package and if he agrees then social welfare will accept your circumstances and the process for social welfare and redundancy will be more clear cut....
