Funtasia is in bettystown, co. meath which is 10km form Drogheda, about 15-20 minutes drive.

I lived in and around Drogheda for 20 years. For years it didnt have much to offer except that it was close to Dublin, and a good stopping point for visits to Newgrange, Slane castle, Mellifont Abbey etc, and close to beaches such as Laytown, Bettystown and Mornington on the southside and Clogherhead and Baltray on the Northside.

For a 6 year old, your probably better off staying in Funtasia for the day, and if you have tow days, a visit out to bru na Boinne to visit Newgrange, Dowth and Nowth might be worth doing.

In terms of shopping, West Street is dead these days, thanks to the motorway and the construction of Scotch Hall and Lawrence Shopping Centres. Thier both worth a quick walk around. Not many shops.

Oh and Laurence's Gate at the top of Laurence Street is a good photo op.

Just remembered the water park is just off the M! in the Donore Business Park, and Funtasia Bettystown has all the bowling, slot machines, games etc.

The Funtasia Water Park is in the Donore Business Park, it's very convenient to the Motorway and well signposted.

Lots to do around Drogheda, not sure how your 6 year old will feel about them!
-Visit St Peter's Church and see the decapitated head of St Oliver Plunkett
-Visit the "Cup and Saucer" at Millmount and the museum - Good views
    -Battle of the Boyne site
    -Newgrange/Knowth/Dowth
    -Beaulie House and Gardens
    -Mellifont Abbey
    -Celtic High Crosses at Monasterboice
-Nice scenic drive from the town out to Baltray
