I would love to see a decent Classic & Prestige indoor event here, something like a smaller version of the NEC Classic show in Bermingham.

If you were organising such a show what attractions would you like to see?

LOL! You thought long and hard about that one!

I'm talking about added attractions like:

    Drive In Movies
    Burnout Competition
    Dreamrides (like at TG Festival)
    Practical Demos

I don't think there is a lot of stuff I would like to see other than lots of decent classics - what I would not like however is to pay money in to a show to be pestered by every snake oil salesman and food stall seller into parting with my cash.

I am sick of going to Irish "shows" where all it is is one big blast of advertisement after advertisement - some shows in Ireland you feel as if they should have paid you to go to.

at classic car shows, there's much less of this btw.
    rant over - sorry op

I'd like an enormous field (with 10 access points) filled with classics - and a beautiful sunny day. :)

Though a drive in movie theater sounds good!

    No bothers Rob,

My idea was kinda a step up from traditional shows here. If you've ever been to the Classic show in the NEC in Birmingham you'll know what I'm talking about. My ideas would be a mostly indoor show with sections for different genres / decades. Clubs submitting the best of their cars, real concours type stuff, etc. Also there would be 'live' shows, e.g. practical demos on hot to do whatever, also if you were at TG Live in '09 you would have seen the guys assembling a Tractor in 10 mins - that sort of thing.

To enhance the atmosphere classic rock music would be piped at a not too intrusive level - maybe having a radio station, e.g. Nova, broadcast on-site. There would be no charge for exhibiting cars but there would be other interesting exhibitors, e.g. tyre co's; polish / wax co's; insurance co's; etc.

Outside there would be continuous Drive-In-Movies, open to classics of any discription so those with non concourse / rolling restos, etc could attend and take part - again, no charge for same just part of the gig. There would also be an enclosure outside for classic car sales.

A 'Dreamrides' section would make cars available to the general public to give them a spin as a passenger in a car of their choice in exchange for a donation to charity. (Same as TG Dreamrides)

General admission would be €10 with kids free. There would be kids activities, e.g. mini pedal go-kart track or something, facepainting, etc. Good 'diner' style food stalls, shakes, malts, candy floss, etc.

A real up beat event like this would be cool maybe in the RDS or Citywest!
