The battery in the little remote device (forgot the official name for this) for locking/unlocking appears to be on its last legs. Is it a big deal to get this replaced or is it just a case of going into the local auto accessory shop and have them change the battery.

Its a hyundai santa fe if its relevant.

It's a key fob and uses the same battery like you would find in a watch or on a pc motherboard.

Thanks for that. So could I just buy the battery and change it myself then?

If its a CRxxxx battery inside it you should be able to change it yourself no problems. If it is a CRxxxx battery there's lot of places it can be gotten, ebay, maplin, Atlantic home care, camera shop etc...

Yea but they tend to be very expensive, they charge the same price even if your putting it in yourself, typically 5 times the price of the battery...

Popped in to the local car accessory shop yesterday and got it replaced for €2.75 which I thought was very reasonable.
