'99 Renault Clio having trouble with ignition

    Hey,
Renault Clio '99 has started acting up in the last week or so. It takes a good few goes of turning the ignition before the engine starts. It hadn't been doing this before and seems to be getting sporadically worse.

Usually the car is quite reliable and only has 63,000 miles on it.

Not much info to go on here but just thought there might be some idea as to what the problem is.

    Thanks for any help

Sounds like a goosed battery... Anything else wrong with it? Do the lights dim/brighten with the revs? Has it been parked up for a while?

It's not my car so I won't be able to check until later but it gets a decent amount of usage mainly for short commutes.

could be the plugs need changing. short journeys aren't great for a car, never gets a chance to heat up properly. worth doing them if they haven't been done lately anyway.
