Heya~ I applied to the CAO ages ago and all that with my first choice being Arts in Maynooth.
I did my Leaving Cert last year so the lady on the phone said since I got above a certain amount of points I can do the MH101 arts degree which means I don't need to do any sort of audition (I applied for French and Music).

Just wondering are there actually no auditions for Arts? I got no confirmation emails either so i'm just hoping I applied to the CAO properly! :$

I don't think there are any auditions for Arts, though I could be wrong

When you say you did the Leaving Cert last year [2009/10], does that mean you applied for Maynooth and deferred your entry to join the following year, i.e. 2011/12?

I think you only need to do an audition for Music if you're applying for the BMus (single honours music), not for Music through Arts. There's definitely nothing like that for French anyway; once you have a C3 in honours you can do it.

Yeah there's no audition for Music through Arts, it's just points based :)

Oh great! :) So I shouldn't really expect any emails or anything like that from Maynooth?
I was just a little worried cos I kinda.. didn't apply for anything else.. :$

And no it's not deferred, I took a gap year cos I couldn't decide on which course to do!

Yeah you're fine then, you won't hear anything back until after this year's Leaving Cert results are out :)
