:pac: Anyone just see the "statement" released? It was the most surreal dictator statement ever. Normally they are in luxurious surroundings with military men around them all serious and officiuos. Not this time. It was him, holding an umbrella, hanging out of a banjaxed car. The news presenters were trying not to crack up laughing. All he said was "I was meeting with the youths in the Green" - ok. Smoking a few pipes too no doubt. You will understand when you see it.:D

This will be replayed all night.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

He is doing it old school, hanging on, dont see how he will be able to.

Libya has no government really, it has lots and lots of committees, with Gadaffi pulling strings. With him gone I dunno what will happen. Near all of Libyas oil goes to europe.

Reminds me of when Ceauşescu tried to appease the crowd, just before they rushed and executed him.

    Translation:

[uh uh, rain]...I was talking to the youths in 'Green Square', and then it started raining - thanks to God, this is good. But I'd like to show them from here I am in Tripoli not in Venezuala. Do not believe the channels, they are dogs.

That could be an alley way in any city practically. Could be Moore Street in fact. Could be.

    There's a longer video here: http://gawker.com/#!5766663/qaddafis-bizarre-video-statement

I'll tell you, if he avoids getting strung up by a lamppost, Qaddafi has a future in art-house filmaking.

That could be the sequel to this effort. Before we know it, rumours will have Tim Burton in the director's chair, with Johnny Depp playing the lamppost.

He's been out and about again...

Defiant Gaddafi refuses to quit amid Libya protests

In his first major speech since unrest began, Col Gaddafi said the whole world looked up to Libya and that the protesters were "serving the devil".

He said he would not leave the country and would "die a martyr".

Rights groups say nearly 300 have been killed in violence since the protest began.

A defiant and angry Col Gaddafi said that he had brought glory to Libya. As he had no official position in Libya from which to resign, he would remain the head of the revolution, he said.

He blamed the unrest on "cowards and traitors" who were seeking to portray Libya as a place of chaos and to "humiliate" Libyans.

The protesters had been given drink and drugs, he said.

He called on "those who love Muammar Gaddafi" to come on to the streets in support of him, telling them not to be afraid of the "gangs".

"Come out of your homes, attack them in their dens. Withdraw your children from the streets. They are drugging your children, they are making your children drunk and sending them to hell," he said.

He added: "If matters require, we will use force, according to international law and the Libyan constitution."

That girl on the news desk in the 3rd or 4th post is damn good looking. I mean really stunning! :D
Gadaffi is a serious nut bag though, I always laugh when I read about his crazy UN shenanigans. Bombing your own cities though? I can't take a humorous slant on this stuff. Except for what's in the OP obviously. That hilarious nut bag.

His speech today was even crazier. It's comedy gold, the English translation doesn't do it justice to be honest.

He spent about ten minutes reading from his "green book" giving out a list of crimes that he plans on charging the protestors with. Every single crime's punishment is the death sentence. Then later on he retracted what he said and said that all the protestors are on hallucinogenic drugs and that he won't kill them, he'll arrest them to "treat their addiction". Couple that with the mountains of fabric that he's wearing and the fact that he was giving his speech behind a statue of a fist crushing a plane entitled "USA" and it's no wonder that the entire world think he's batsh1t crazy.
