    please forgive me for my ignorence on this matter, but i purcahsed a walker tv last weekend thinking i could pick up the rte channels on digital, as it happens its just the same snowy picture im picking up still, i think i have tuned this tv in properly, but maybe not. i can pick up my free tv channels on my old sky box but i could do that on my old tv,

    There is two tuners on the walker TV, an analogue one and a digital one. A snowy picture means you are using the analogue tuner. You need to switch to the digital tuner and do a new channel search.
