    Hi,

Can someone tell me if apps like VLC & Cinexplayer work on the iPad??

These allow you to load files such as AVI onto the device and play them without needing to convert them. Works really well on my iPhone

    Thanks!!

Cinexplayer works fine on the iPad, it plays avi files but be careful as whilst it
will play Divx it will no play all of them as it does not support sound in AC3 format which some divx files have.

Apple removed VLC from the app store due to DRM concerns so it is no
    longer available for download.

If you have jailbroken your iPad, your best best is to use XBMC as it will play practically everything, including files that have AC3 audio. It even provides hardware acceleration for any H264 videos, so even MKV high definition files play flawlessly.

Azul media player is available on the app store for 79 cent, it seems to support more formats than cinex. It also allows you to download video
direct to the iPad. I have only just downloaded it but initial impressions are good.
