it's €355 if you buy from Amazon, but €390 is a good local deal.

Tell me, what happens if you buy a tv from overseas/on the internet and something goes wrong with it?
You can't exactly pop into their store easily for them to have a look at it? Do you post it back to them and if so at whose expense?

    Cheers,
    Pa.

most major tv suppliers would have an official repair centre you'd go to first, eg Sony one is in Swords afaik.
if they couldn't fix it, then they'd give you an authorisation code of some sort, which would "instruct" the online retailer to reimburse you, and they in turn will claim off the manufacturer

That's the risk of online buying. You get good prices, but it can be a pain to get sorted if something goes wrong.

Some sites have great returns policies and will pay for everything, others are absolute nightmares to deal with.

You need to carefully read their T&Cs. Then check places like here and search for site reviews.

That's not saying that you can't have the same issues with a bricks and mortar shop.

Some sites require you to contact them 1st and they'll authorise a local repair. If you don't follow the sites instructions correctly it can make it more difficult to get a satisfactory outcome in a timely manner.

found this in the Dundrum Branch

here's a link to the same model on Amazon
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDL32EX401U-32-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B003BVI494/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298318871&sr=8-1

might not work on Saoirview, but the reviews sound good

You didnt notice if they had any bigger TV's than 32"?

OT I know but I can never understand Amazon's policy in this regard. I can buy a Toshiba TV from them but not a Sony. Last week I tried to buy an MP3 player and couldn't, yet all three items are listed as being shipped from the same place.
    Just plain weird.
