    Is there any cure?

Here's the link, but seriously do not watch it if you want to remember the good aul days when "His name I will not mention" was an unfunny, annoying, busking prick.

I have a grave suspicion that the OP is actually David McSavage & is here to promote his own show.

The username "Uglybolloxface" certainly suits the bill.

That man has yet to make me laugh. He's just a bit annoying tbh

The Savage Eye is funny, the satire is done really well, doesnt stop McSavage from being a piss poor comedian though, look at Ardal O'Hanlon, was brilliant as Dougal, but his standup is as funny as bowel cancer.

Did you go to an ultra-posh finishing school for young ladies in Switzerland?

Shouting 'quay-ers' isn't funny. Even if it is attempting to satirise small-town mentality.

I dunno if this is a typo or not.

Edit: Never mind I misread it.

I wish people would get off the McSavage hate wagon. The Savage Eye is good satire. RTE have made a lot of attempts at this kind of thing over the years and always fell flat on their face. This is actually funny. It cuts to the core of the enigma of the "crazy Irish"

Ok McSavage is abit of a tool himself, but the programme stands up all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,585 ✭✭✭lynski

it's ok op, it has happened to a few of us recently. it is more amazing that rte has made something that has a funny line or 2 rather then that it is mcsavage that has done it.
It has potential, but like all rte productions it is under written and under edited, nuggets of good ideas that needed work are thrown out as complete pieces.
it is ok, dont worry to much, i still feel dirty after raising a smile at mrs brown a few weeks ago, now that is something to be ashamed of. :o

i think its brilliant satire and not half as exploitative as fr ted was. whatever about the man himself and his stand up skills his satire is top notch.

    Or lack thereof.
But yeah I would agree with many posters here who say the show is actually funny. Some scenes had me bowled over with the laughter, whereas some had me thinking "what the ****". But all in all, I enjoyed it.

And I'll be watching the next fews episodes as one of the lads from home is gonna be in a few of them:cool::pac:

OP you just cant listen to other people when it comes to comedy /comedians.

Everybody has a comedian they hate thats just the way it is.
Just dont listen to people. Just about every comedian has been slagged on here at least once.

Bottom line is if you find them funny then just roll with it dont let other people ruin it for you.

    Very funny in parts.

A real bizarre quality to it.

At least a couple of  moments as he tries to blame the Church for all of Ireland's ills.

Surprised with the amount of bad feedback it's getting on Boards considering the self-loathing, everything Irish is automatically **** narrative that seems common to both The Savage Eye and many of the posters here...

    Good show overall.

Lucky for me I don't come with any Dave mc Savage baggage and know arse all about the guy.

But a lot of that show is pure brilliance at times, on a par with The Brass eye by Chris Morris.

I suppose haters always gonna hate and all but if you look at the originality in the show, even that operatic court piece you can't help but admire the show and the team behind it.

Absolutely not. Brass Eye is in a whole different league to The Savage Eye.

Comparing Brass Eye to the Savage Eye?

Sorry to have offended you both but the underlying pulse is pretty much the same as the Chris morris stuff. Self depreciating humour and taking the p1ss out of "well thought" out modern media opinions.

I feel I am in the minority here but frankly I enjoy the show so it is win win for me.

But yeah you can't compare The Savage Eye to Brass Eye...BE wins hands down....by millions.
