So i have just posted my CDJ kit up for sale : http://www.adverts.ie/459595

This is a big step for me have always swore by using decks for DJing but but with college coming closer and the need for a laptop for school work im thinking about going laptop

My previous set up consisted of :3X CDJ 400s + MX-1400 DSP 5 channel mixer and what my future plan for my new set up is :15' Macbook pro i5 2.66 GHZ + a midi controller

I know what laptop Im looking for but need your help with a controller

I have residency in a local club and also a mobile DJ so i need somthing that would suite both + mic ports for mobile DJing

My thoughts so far are :

Ableton APC40 (perfect for clubs but not very suited for mobile gigs)
    apc40_17.jpg

Pioneer DDJ-S1 (not on the market very long cant find any proper reviews)

Have a look at the vestax vci 300 or 100. The VCI 300 has a built in soundcard, the 100 does not. They are very sturdy and reliable pieces of kit. Im selling the VCI 100 at the moment also in my ads:

The S4 would probably be your best all rounder

AA VMS4 is nice, but the sound quality has been questioned.

New version of Traktor being released on April 1st too, and S4 owners get a free upgrade to it

I have the S4. I love it. You wont look back. You should get the case with it also and i have the same laptop as you said and its rock solid. Not a hitch since I got them. Does everything and free Traktor pro 2 coming.

Seriously, the s4 will be too big to
Lug around to clubs all the time!

Get yourself and vestax vci-100 and an external soundcard! Great little controller!

The s4 is not much bigger than a regular laptop + going from lugging around 3 CDJS 5 channel mixer + back pack , its a huge difference

But from a "having to find space" in a dj booth perspective, the s4 is huge!

i find the S4 being a comfortable size , when things get too small they become hard to use , S4 stands out hugely compaired to the others ant with a free upgrade to the new traktor best bang for your buck
