    Trying to get organised to apply for a practicising certificate, and need to get my CPD up to date (which is woefully short).

    I note its over a 3 year rolling period and I will be admitted 2 years in April 2011. Therefore working in practice i make it that I need:

    - 20 hours auditing CPD and 20 hours tax CPD over the 2 years.

    I only have 8hrs auditing and 1hr tax. Therefore I ve a lot to make up (31hours).

    What is the most effective, but still useful way of doing this. The CAI, and ITI online modules work out at 25-30 e per hour so im looking at 700-900e by doing it that way.

    Any advice welcome

    Is there any issues doing these CPE courses as a chartered accountant?

    Don't think so. I think all accounting bodies allow each others courses to be used for CPE. There are also other approved courses. The mininum requirements for a course to be counted should be on the website. Usually it is that there are notes, minimum of two hours, register of attendence etc.

    there are other CPD providers in the market that are not accounting/auditing institutes that will provide CPD at a far cheaper rate. They may also offer online CPD
