We can watch our Sky box on our kitchen TV without one of those transmitters , my Husband just brought a cable from the sky box to the TV and it works fine. You have to watch the same channel on both but he has it coming through on AV so we can still watch the regular channels too.

    how bout this

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/SCART-Audio-Video-Sender-Kit-/330532874342?pt=UK_ConEle_SatCableFreeview_RL&hash=item4cf54b6866

    it says

"To transmit, just plug into the RCA or SCART output port of a VCR, DVD or satellite. To receive, just plug into the RCA or SCART output port of TV or monitor. Plug one end of the power adaptor into the back of the transmitter and the other end into any 230-volt wall outlet. If you use transmitter or receiver with RCA plugs, the yellow, red and white plugs have to match the yellow, red and white ports of the VCR, DVD or satellite. "

So i have two scart ports on my sky box. At the moment have a scart lead going from port1 in sky box to tv downstairs. Can i plug the transmitter into scart port 2 on sky box and then plug the reciever into the tv scart port upstairs??

Also what does this bit mean?

" Change channel from another room with the built-in IR remote repeater (not IrDA compatible)"

    What does IRDA compatible mean?
I have a spare sky remote, can i use that with the upstairs tv?

Sorry for all the questions....seriously dont have a clue bout this stuff

ive tried these and found them to be hit and miss.a wired connection with magic eye is the only job.so what its upstairs (run the coax through mini trunking .looks well if done right)

Those things are hit and miss as said. Cable on the side of the house, into the attic, into a splitter box, and back down into the room upstairs is probably the best way.

I would love to see a solution to this. Was thinking it could be too good to be true but I am going get one to try when a few more options are posted & I'l come back to this post & let ye know. I don't have the luck with the skybox in the same house, brother has his own place around 120 meters from my house.

You say hit and miss...is there anyone out there who has positive results from a certain type or brand of sender? Im renting and would prefer not to be drilling holes at the moment

    http://www.powercity.ie/?par=30-61-SKY150&brands=UNIVERSAL

just hooked one of these up yesterday. Got it in powercity for €19. works great. I'm Not a teckie at all and I was able to set it up in 10 mins. Ran cable up to bedroom from the RF2 outlet in the back of the sky box, then plugged the sky eye into the other end in the bedroom and into the tv. Picture quality is perfect. U use the sky remote to control ur sky box from the bedroom. I.m finally able to watch all the stuff I record. Would totally recommend it. Cheap as chips too. :)
