This is not an attempt at dole bashing, im on the dole myself, but im just wondering what party do you think has the best plans to tackle overspending in pointless areas of social welfare and public service.
    e.g.
    - Students on back to education allowance getting grants so they can purchase luxuries and go out drinking more (i see it first hand)
    - being entitled to claim the dole abroad (or JSB anyway afaik)
    - being entitled to back to education allowance abroad
    - coming down harsh on rent allowance if you are single and have no dependents ( i manage without it tbh)
    - tackling social welfare fraud, taking a hard line on it
    - coming down harshest on non frontline public service ( i believe nurses are overworked/underpaid but i dont share the same belief with the army for instance, i believe they are overpaid and underworked)

and lets not try bring up banks, cause i agree myself that the bank problem dwarfs everything else on that list

I think Fine Gael are being most honest about the fact that whatever party is in power are going to have to make radival cuts.

true , but the problem is , i wonder will they be the most efficient at making cuts, i.e. actually finding the specific waste in social welfare and public service as opposed to just making blanket pay cuts and cuts in the dole.

    I think so.

I'm going to say Fianna Failure, as they've successfully eradictated most other economic activity in this country.
