Minimum speed limit on motorways?

    Hey,
    I was wondering if there's an actual by the law minimum legal speed limit on Irish motorways? I had thought there was and went Googling but couldn't find any reference to it.

    "Slow vehicles(less than 50 km/h or 31 mph)" are not allowed by motorway regulations in Ireland. Other regulations are:

    Learner drivers
    Invalid carriages
    Pedestrians
    Pedal-cycles
    Vehicles under 50cc
    Vehicles without pneumatic tyres
    Animals

    Does this mean that it's actually illegal to drive slower than 50km/h on the motorway (when capable of going faster), or is it just a guideline law to keep slower moving vehicles off the motorway?

    would that not mean motorised vehecials with a top speed of less than 50kph?

    AFAIK there are the restictions pointed out by previous posters but no actual minimum speed per se, a vehicle needs to be 'capable' of 50km/h but that is not a minimum speed, just a treshold to limit those types of vehicles presence.

    Its a restriction on the vehicles that can go on the motorway

    However, once your vehicle is capable of going over 50kmh, there is nothing (as ridiculous as it is) to stop you driving at 10 KPH.
