I'm trying to log into a site , but this message comes up...Cannot find server.
Is it my computer or what is the problem?
Is there anyway to fix it??

either the server's isp is down, the server has crashed, or the url address you are using is incorrect.

either the server's isp is down, the server has crashed, or the url address you are using is incorrect.

...Or there's a DNS problem. These seem to be popping up surprisingly frequently on this forum lately.

Are you trying to browse to a website or connect to remote host?

If you're getting this in a web browser, as Razzuh says it could be a DNS issue, maybe your ISP. To rule this out try to browse the site through a proxy. If you still get that message through this then there's likely a problem with the site.

Am I wrong or if it was a DNS issue wouldn't it affect every website?
Not sure if the OP means just a particular site or not.

Well not always, if the website owner had made recent DNS changes to the domain eg maybe pointing the www record to a new IP address, then the ISP might need 24-48 hours before they see this change.

But then again it could just the ISP themselves having DNS problems or the OP has no internet connection at all.

    try www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com (it's a real site :))
    Or try ping www.<yoursite>.com

OP, you need to tell us much more so we can help better.
    Screen shots always help.

Actually it's been a while since OP, probably fixed now.
