leaking immersion

    Hi folks,

    Im having trouble with the immersion tank.Its leaking around where the thermostate has been fitted. The tank is about 4 years old and has the insolation on it!!!!

    Any idea,s on how I could fix this???

    Is it the tank or the immersion ??? If its a soldered/braized connection leaking its likely it will require the cylinder to be replaced.

    can you post a photo of where it is leaking from? sounds like the element is leaking and will need replaced.

    It sounds like it might be a stainless steel tank , and the pocket around the thermostat has corroded , this happens , if this is what happens get the plumber to replace the pocket ASAP as the leak will only get worse and worse very quickly.
    Make sure its changed to a stainless steel pocket , loads of ones are copper pockets and they corrode fast in some areas.

    Its the immersion in the hot press (copper tank) and the leak was coming from the top where the plastic cover is..

    Think its sorted now.A fella who works on cars recommened this putty filler and its working fine so far
