hi lads Wondering if anybody knows of hand any good holsters for 1911s/Hi-capa.I am not just looking for any auld holster, mainly looking for 1 that is speacially for the 1911 type because most holsters hit the mag release button on the pistol and u end up losing mags.
I dont have a 1911/hi-capa yet but if i cant find a holster that sorts this problem I will have to look into something else. Also afew of my airsoft buddies have 1911s/Hi-capas and have this holster problem too. Thanks

FOBUS and SERPA holsters are great, they're solid plastic or fibreglass and won't release the mag or the pistol. You can get dropleg Serpa holsters as well as belt mounted. As for the FOBUS holsters I think they only do the belt mounted ones.

Cheers leftyflip would any of these holsters u suggested able to be use on a molle vest as I wear a molle vest. Not into those leg drop holsters because the pistol can bang of ur leg and the pistol can get pretty battered with the way I throw myself about the place

You can buy a "Strike Plate" which attaches to the SERPA holster. This can then be used on a Molle System.

I love the idea of the serpa, looks and functions great from what i can see.
Also, as leftyflip and sci-ops have said you can put it pretty much anywhere. Personally i like the idea of a chest mount so i can do a cross draw.
Pricey feckers though, but most likely worth the investment. I got a peice of crap from Ebay and its useless, as soon as i move my mag falls out. Fell into the buy cheep buy twice trap.

+1 on the drop leg Serpas - I have one for the 1911 MEU and it's fantastic - I usually never like drop legs, but this thing is solid as hell and doesn't flap around.
The bands that secure the panel/holster to your leg have rubberized strips woven in to the band that stop it slipping on your leg. Nice....

    Fixed that for you Kevin.

On another note, you may or may not be unlucky with the size of the Serpa holster you get from the likes of ebairsoft. I have one which is too wide for my KJW 1911....keeps slipping out of the holster. I've seen other holsters for 1911's from ebairsoft which fit my 1911 perfectly. Just my luck I guess.
