    An enchanted evening was the furthest thing from Laura's mind as she prepared for an evening out with the girls. This night out was a regular feature for some time and Laura looked forward to escaping her troubles for a few hours.
    And then from across the floor their eyes met and words were spoken and something mysteriously magical, transported her to a world where only the gods dwell. The power of this force turned her resolve to jelly and resistance took a back seat in the drama that was to follow.
    What followed was unadulterated exquisite joy that filled every fibre of her being. And so it went, weeks turned into months and time seemed to fly and stand still at the same time.
    But the voice inside her, which for a long time was soft, was now becoming louder. Niggling, questioning, it was looming larger all the time. The dark lies and the white ones, the whispered phone calls, the stolen minutes and furtive lost weekends were beginning to cast a long shadow over her.
    Then one day she knew it could not continue like this any longer. When they parted two hearts were broken but also two hearts were mended. Rightousness, decency and pride prevailed and with it came peace and contentment.
