Painting banisters

    I want to paint the banisters in my house but am unsure as to whether or not it can be done right. They are a dark wood colour with a very shiny finish on them. Would an eggshell paint do the job or is it even possible?

    banister will need to be primed first, product called zinsser bin 123 is the best for that than coat of undercoat and 2 coats of finish eggshell satin or gloss.
