sorry - this is a rant
I was driving down the N7 ( Newlands to Naas ) today in the middle lane while overtaking a few cars. I came up behind a car also in the middle lane so indicated and pulled out into the overtaking lane. As I did so I could see the tool in the Landcruiser in the overtaking lane accelerate to try close the gap I was merging into. He was way too slow so I was well there by the time he caught up with me. He started flashing the lights and gesticulating. Not being one to shy away I gave him the bird. This was not enough for him, he decided to follow me closely for the next few k's very closely, flashing. He even went as far as changing lanes back in right up my ass. I really felt like slamming on the brakes and scaring the fupping sh*t outta the prick

Unfortunately its a daily occourance in this country, some people have a bad attitude on the road, they are usually cowards if you meet them somewhere.
You did the right thing by keeping to yourself, don't take it to heart

In situations like this I usually touch the brake just enough with my left foot to get the brake lights to come on, while at the same time squeezing the accelerator a little more with the right foot. More often than not the individual who's been tailgating craps themselves and backs right off :D

    Your fault OP.

He clearly owns the outside lane.

"to the tool in the Landcruiser"

He sounds like a right Spanner. Hammering along in the overtaking lane. The outcome could have been gut wrenching. Obviously he's not the sharpest tool in the toolbox!:D
