Can someone explain how an each way double works?

If I put €10 e/w double on a 10/1 shot that wins and an 8/1 shot thats second (1/4 odds), whats my payout?

    Thanks

Your return is 105.00. The ew double is split into a win double, where both must win and a place double where both must be placed. The win part of the double has no return. The place part of the double will return 105 calculated as follows. 10 @ 10/1 (1/4 odds) = (10*3.5)=35. the 35 goes on to the 8/1 (1/4 odds). (35*3)=105. The fact that the 10/1 won does not matter.
