Hey everyone my friends employer has claimed €1650 back on her behalf and had now sacked her, and told her he owes her €1500 in tax which he doesn't because she just got her pin from revenue and went online and it shows €1650 as claimed, what should she do? I suggested her seeing a solicitor because he also owes her 4 weeks holidays. and has told her he will pay her 200 of what he owes her a week

Edit: By the way is it not illegal for him to claim HER tax?

how did the employer managed to claim back her tax ? I would imagine Revenue would have sent info balancing statement, refund etc to her address. did her impersonate her, forge her signature and change address?

He must have she said the only thing she ever got from the tax office was at the start of last year when she first started employment and she gave the form to him, to be quite honest she has no clue about tax and i pointed this out to her that he doesn't pay you the tax and that revenue are supposed to.
