Blackberry 9700 new sim

    Hi all,
    My company has recently upgraded our mobile phones! New blackberry woop whoop...

    So I have the old 9700 Bold at my disposal now as they didnt look for it back. I have put my own SIM card into it which is 3 network (Phone was originally vodafone)..

    Phone accepted the card no problem and i can make/ recieve calls SMS etc.. However i cannot set up my personal email address on it! All it says is "cannot connect to server" when i try go through the setup proccess...

    Can anyone help as to why?? Do i have to have the phone unlocked in some way or is there some setting i am missing?? All help apreciated!!
