Hi my very 1st Iphone will be arriving Monday or Tuesday

Its a 1st Gen 8Gb which i got for €100 :) From looking through the threads i see the same questions being asked,Which Operator is best for internet.

Well i wont ask that question,i decided to go with Vodafone, just because theres a vodafone store in my town and my friends use Vodafone.

The questions i do have are
(1)What download speeds will i receive using the mobile internet? (I wont be downloading from it just looking for a idea of how fast it is)
(2)Is the speed fast enough for data to be download by the apps?
(3)I have 7Mb BB at home so i figured id just connect the Iphone to this using the wifi,THis should work?

Is there anything else i should know?It will be jailbroken :) although ive no idea how it works im sure il figure it out :)
I had no intention of buying an iphone until i was flciking through ebay and saw the auction about to end when the price was low :)

    1. 75-135Kbps is about the max speed you'll get from EDGE (EDGE is the data connection iphone 1st generation has).

    2. depends on the app entirely, mail it will be fine but youtube or other streaming services will suffer badly.

    3. when you're connected to any wireless network on the iphone, you'll get the max available speed of that connection - will be slow if others are using the connection at the same time - but you will in theory get 7mb at home.

also it's courteous to wait at least 24 hours before bumping your thread :pac:
