    haven't used any ones that don't use data, Google maps Nav does not use much data, suprisingly little. AFIK if you calculate route over wifi before u leave, it will use even less data.

    Unlike a traditional sat nav package G . Maps allows you to search by entity name. i.e. you can search for "woodies", "starbucks" etc without having to know the address

    I use mapdroyd. Droyd not Droid. Pretty good, downloadable maps etc.
