Hi all, my girlfriends birthday is coming up this week and i wanna get her hair extensions as she's been talking about it for ages but could never afford it. So i'm looking for recommendations on any places around Waterford or Kilkenny or maybe even Wexford, new ross etc. She wants to get her hair coloured too so i'm looking for a place thats good and can colour and do extensions on same day fingers crossed. If it was good and well priced she could do it over two days. Any recommendations? She does not want glue!!!! And prices would be great. I had been told about a place in kilkenny but rang them four times, each time they said the extensions person would need to call back and never did so feck that.

She's working two days in dublin this week so could do it in dublin either but figured down here would be cheaper. I'd like her to get it done by weekend, because theres a surprise party for her!

My friend used this place and the results were fabulous. They have various special offers on too depending what you want.

I got hair extentions a month ago for the first time. After alot of research I decided to go for the sew in weave ones as they don`t damage your hair - which the ones in other places do no matter what they say. I don`t regret my decision and am never going without them again.

They cost me 150 and it only took one hour - that was including hair which came in an array of colors. The place I went only did extentions nothing else I had to go to the hairdressers then to have them blended in. It was an african extention place and they are the best - the other places are not doing this because they can`t.

It was in Dundalk but there are loads around the back of the Ilac in Dublin. If you wanted you could buy the extentions online on ebay, go to your own hairdressers, have your hair and the extentions colored and then go to one of these shops get the tracks in and weaves sewn on. This is what i`ll be doing when I go a different color next time.

    thanks for replies

i don't think she wants a weave as her friend tried it and it left bald patches on her head.

When i've been trying to research this i've read loads of bad stories about hairspray so think i will steer clear of them, any other suggestions? thanks

Its imposible for a weave to leave you with bald patches. They use your own hair to make a french plait to use as a track to sew the hair onto. Bonding definetely causes baldness and breakage. The only problem with weaves comes with taking them out. The ladies in the African shop are less than delicate with your hair whn removing the weaves. I have organised to go to my own hairdressers to have them taken out damage free.

I got mine done in Ebano Ballinteer a few weeks ago. It's 500 for a full head. They are the non glue ones. Haven't seen them through a full cycle yet obviously but I love them!

Funny how the girl who owns that has the exact same name as you... It's frowned upon to pimp your own business by pretending to be a customer.

Also, glue extensions are terrible, micro rings are far superior. I wouldn't let anyone go near me with keratin bonds.
