trying to setup a netopia 2247-02 as an access point with my chorus broadband.

ive done it with a netgear easily in my college house, but having big problems here.

ive disabled dhcp on the netopia, and when i select what type of bridged connection, it all goes wrong.

there are a few options in the list.

    PPP over Ethernet LLC/SNAP
    bridging mode enabled
however, it asks for a username and password.

    PPP over Ethernet VC muxed
    bridging mode enabled,
again asks for username and password.

    cant set them to blank...

    RFC-1483 bridged ethernet LLC/CNAP
    bridging mode enabled
does not ask for username or password.

    however, does not work.

there are 3 other options in the list, but none give me the option for bridge mode, so ill ignore them for now.

any suggestions on any of the above?

turns out there is a fault with the firmware installed on the netopia routers.

only the 2247-02NWG will work in bridge mode.

    stupid..

lucky i had a spare one.

i advise anyone trying to get this working with the latest firmware not using the 2247NWG to not waste their time.
