How to dispose of burnt out classic?

Our 1972 restored mgb gt was totally burnt in our darage fire last weekend.
Hadn't driven it in 2 years and so didn't insure it last year.

Its totally burnt out, tyres burnt off the wheels and all.

Our local scrap yard will take it but the truck they have will not fit around the back to get it. Can't pull/tow it cos of lack of tyres.
What would you suggest? Fork lift? or would car be too long and snap?

    Any ideas guys?

That's bad news. :( How did it catch fire?
You should be able to lift the car with a forklift, or cut it into smaller pieces with a consaw, then drag them out.?

Bad news alright, the whole garage and contents including oil tank burnt down in matter of minutes due to an electrical fault.

Thanks for that info, we going to look into hiring a fork lift so.

So much more to do also:confused:

Would they take in a burnt car in a metal dealer? You may be able to get some money from it.

What's scrap weighing in at a ton these days? There's hardly a car left in a ditch or a yard because of the guys going around collecting them, I pass Hegartys trucks every day down this end of the country.

Last I heard a few weeks ago was €120 / ton.

Scrap metal processors love burnt out stuff,
no tyres, oil or inside trim to be disposed of after they put it through the frag,
    just lovely metal.

Yes in my post I explained that the problem was how to get it out of garage for the scrap yard guy to collect it.

We got a friend to get it out with a very powerful tractor with fork lift on front.
Metal wheels were melted into the concrete floor.

Don't think we are getting any money for it, he is just collecting it along with burnt out ride on mower, and lots more burnt metal
