    Hi
I have an 04 petrol megane
I went to start it today and all the warning lights came on and the display said electrical problem.
Then the wipers came on and wouldn't turn off.

When i tried to turn off the car it stayed running,so i conked it to turn it off.
So i checked all the fuses and they were ok and disconnected the battery, left it for 20mns and when i reconnected it the car started even tough the key was in my pocket.
Has anyone ever heard of problems like this?
    Thanks

sounds water damage/ingress or a faulty uch(body computer). first port of call get it plugged to a scan tool.

    hope this helps

Get a second hand ECU, get an a cheap mechanic to fit it and then get it programmed at a main Renault dealer.

fyi clownman youll find that any second hand stuff is vin locked. there are ways around this with specialist equipment. the other option is to fit a complete immo/ecu kit...theres plenty of them on ebay but youll only need to cross that bridge when you come to it also a new engine ecu comes preprogrammed from renault. a uch doesnt need to be programmed, just adapted and configured. maybe post fault codes and we could help more
