These were in the news before, but I much prefer my Antec case.

Meet the Recompute – an Ubuntu running sustainable computer with ideals fastened on saving the environment.
    image11.png
The Recompute was designed to be a ‘Full life cycle’ PC; eco-friendly in materials, manufacture processes and subsequent disposal.
    But cardboard… fo real?

The cases are made using recycled moisture resistant cardboard in a design harnessing the ‘corrugated’ folds for adequate ventilation. It’s held together with non-toxic ‘white glue’ and coated in NASA-grade non-toxic flame retardant, making it sustainable, stylish and safe.
    Recompute LNX

The Recomute is available to buy with Ubuntu 10.04 pre-installed. The dual-core 2.2ghz, 2GB RAM and 250GB HDD set-up will set you back $499.95.
The case alone sits amongst the line up for $199, whilst two Windows 7 models – with higher specs – round out the top tier.
More information, press spiel and pretty pictures can be found @ sustainable-computer.comRECOMPUTE.
    Thanks to William

Aw crap, they said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet! :pac:

Really though... a piece of cardboard with an ancient and utterly revolting 400W dual-fan piece of RaidMax tripe for ~€150??!? And the pre-built machines are a joke: machines with old 65nm Athlon X2s and entry-level mobos and memory going for €370 and €520 respectively?!? Bear in mind we're talking no OS, no monitor, no optical drive, integrated graphics, extremely old and weak CPU/mobo/memory/PSU and a "case" made out of cardboard. Even their "ultimate high-end" build has an ageing Athlon X4-630, cheap AM3 mobo and 4GB of cheap generic DDR3-1333... for the princely sum of €650 sans OS  CustomPC.ie are looking like pretty good value in comparison! :pac:

The funniest part is that these are some of the most environmentally-unfriendly machines I've seen... they use ancient early-P4-era PSUs that struggle to maintain 70% efficiency and rub it in by using very old tech with poor energy:speed ratios and inefficient old chipsets (the fanciest is an AMD 740G, on their premium machine). And charge crazy money for pollution-in-a-(cardboard!) box. This risible sh!t makes me pretty f***ing furious TBH
