Peugeot 206 draining battery

    Hi

I would really appreciate some help. I have been having bother with my peugeot 206 2002 now for 4 months. It started as soon as the cold weather hit in Nov. The car won't start it seems somethin is draining the battery. I bought a new battery in Nov it lasted a few days but was completely flat. I spent all dec putting it into garages they tested for boot light drain, glove compartment, and took out a fuse for an alarm we thought this was it as it worked again for a few days, but no good, think it worked cuz they charged up the battery.

Anyway it has been in 3 garages since, it is currently in one now for 6 wks, they have replaced starter, checked altenator & it is perfect, Put it on the diagnostic computer to check electrics, put another new battery in it..! At the mo he's checking the central locking.

Anyone have any ideas or had this problem and got it sorted.

I am at my wits end, I had to buy another car as i rely so much on it for work. im trying to sell the peugeot now & having lots of interest but can't sell it if its not working.

Any help would be really really appreciated.

    Elisha

I don't know,I think you need to go to a auto spark, cause these garages/same one are not sorting it.Did any of them check the central locking? They need to to check to see on the battery how much of a drain there is.If on the high side, remove fuses to see which one drops. But these places should be able to sort it with all their equipment.I know it can be tricky, but still.

    Hi Jimmy

Thanks for your reply. Actually he did mention central locking to me today and he is checking that now. When he mentioned that I did remember that a few months back when i got up in the morning the car was sometimes unlocked, even though I was sure I locked it at night. it happened alot.

I will mention putting the volt meter on it and removing fuses if he hasnt already done so. If he doesn't get it sorted this time ill have to take it elsewhere but its so frustrating as its been so long

    Thanks anyway

    Elisha

Well yeah, but I was thinking a better way might be for him to use an ammeter or what ever tool they use to check how much of a drain by connecting up between the battery positive post and the disconnected cable that goes on it.

That and putting the ammeter between the individual fuses
