I'm looking for a good texture pack to use, any recommendations?

Also, where's the best place to find them?

I use the HD one, it's outstanding. I'll get the link when Im home later

Im actually in the middle of making my own one

The moon will be the deathstar and the boards.ie logo will be TNT

is it easy to create your own? is it just a file I need to edit in Photoshop?

I'm using the Painterly Pack, I love it!

When downloading it you are given a choice of a few diff preset options for how some of the elements display, its dead easy.

And as Tal said, you can modify elements yourself, he'll stick up a guide soon.

I personally use GERUDOKU (with BetterLight).

I tend to flick between the original (when at work), and Scribblecraft at home

    I usually use Scribblecraft,
But it isn't that necessary to be honest :P
The beauty of the game is its simplicity :D

This site is pretty good for texture packs and skins and stuff.

    http://www.planetminecraft.com/

Some of my favourites have been the Zelda pack, Eldpack, and gerudoku.

I'm currently using the photo realism pack which looks great.

I'm using the Eldpak myself atm and love it.

Just found this one an hour ago and wanted to share it:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/191915-128p15-01-balea-v23-bumpmaps/page__st__200

    Note:
That site will give you slightly outdated instructions. It tells you to get a HD texture fix at 'blah blah'. That works find prior to 1.5, but this one:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-update-51bettergrass-mcpatcher-hd-fix-201/#{SIMPLETEXT1}

Works for everything up to and including 1.5, and is generally better =)
