BBC red button problem

I'm having an issue with BBC red button text on BBC1 and 2 on a Sony TV.

When I press the red button the text screen appears ok, but when I navigate through the pages, and the mini-screen appears, it begins to flash and crashes, and the whole TV freezes and needs to be plugged out to re-start it.

I'm receiving it from satellite, and the feed I'm using is sent through a mini headend in an apartment block, and it's been broadcast by COFDM. So I'm tuning in the TV to a DVB-T Mux to receive BBC1 and 2.

However, I'm fairly sure that it's not the headend equipment as it also passes BBC HD and the red button function works fine that way.

I've also tried it from freeview from Enniskillen, both through the headend and directly to the TV, and it works perfectly well also on BBC1 and 2.

I've also used a Sky Digibox on this TV and it works fine.

To add more confusion, I've tested the problem with other TV's and the same thing is happening on other sets I used. However, I tested on a brand new LED Sony, and a new 32" entry model Sony, and there was no problem at all.

    Any ideas? Much appreciated.

I'm surprised that the red button still functions when you convert from DVB-S to DVB-T. What happens when you press the red button on BBCHD channel - what services can you access?

Yes, it functions fine on BBC HD and I can access all red button service afaik.

Do you know if the same red button service is common to all BBC channels, or are there some services exclusive to some channels only?
