So I'm a bit of a gamer and last night while playing the Rift Beta, my a section of my laptop screen really started to play up as in, lines would appear and then fade and then it would change the colour of that section and virtually it became a pain in the arse so I turned it off. Came home this afternoon and thought it was good and It was but I just, after finishing some study, decided to play Rift again. But then this happened about 5 minutes into playing:

Its that section of the screen thats bothering me and I cannot get it removed.

I've tried to update my drivers but when I download the latest, it says it isn't compatible.

Right now I'm using a Sony Vaio E-Series which yes, isn't the best for gaming but I don't have a lot here. I have a 512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics driver and my I have a 64-Bit Windows 7 OP.

I'm not that much of a tech guy so I may not have a lot.

    Graphic card
    Screen
    Inverter
    Driver

They are the things that would need to be checked.

Check system logs for any errors.

looks like the flex circuits connecting the glass/liquid crystal to the electronics are coming loose.
maybe the extra heat making them worse.
rub your finger along the bottom and top of the screen when it happens; see if the pressure changes the display. if so then its a new panel.
