I yesterday contacted a seller on Ebay regarding an item must have left the page open and this morning i see that i had bought the item. One of my children must have kepk pressing keys on the keyboard until they bought and confirmed the purchase. The item is £300 and i cannot afford it and had asked a question for a family member who is interested but does now want to buy at the moment. I am a member since 2003 and have never had an incident like this before. I have contacted the seller who i have not heard from yet and i dont know what to do and am really concerned. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Technically you have agreed to buy it, but id ask the seller nicely (as its gonna cost him/her money) but theyre under no obligation to drop it.

A Buy it Now is not like a bid, and cannot be retracted unless the seller agrees to cancel. You can always not pay of course (unless your child did this too), but the seller will then start non-paying bidder proceedings. This won't have any impact on it's own, but if you get a few of these then eBay will close your account.

Wait for the seller to respond, and take it from there.

Might be worth offering to cover the costs to the seller for cancelling the bid.
