Don't remember putting down my number. Ah well i thought i done well especially when i scratch at least 3 holes. When you drive well here, you have a straight forward pitch.

    No commiserations needed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I certainly am on that course! It was made easy by driving the green at 18 and 12 I think... Down hill par 4.. and I hit a horrible fat shot on a par 3. Think it was 16 it went about 50 yards and rolled the remaining 100 down the hill and finished 3 foot from the pin! I wasn't used to being rewarded for such mistakes ha!

Yeah the 16th...poor poor par 3, you could hit a putter off the tee if you wanted to. Green is relatively small.

12th is drivable but difficult as you cant see the green off the tee and the green is surrounded by bunkers. 18th is defintely drivable but not worth it as there water in the rear of the green.

    Lovely clubhouse!

well in that case you've just elevated yourself into the famous 'bandit' brigade
you can half expect a high hcper scratching a few holes but an 11hcper??,that's a disgrace, and then you finish with 38,imo if you play off anything less than around 14 and have 3 scratches you should be scoring no more that around 33 pts, that would be the case with myself and most of my golf mates

Scratching 3 and still having 38 makes you a bandit in my book as well I'm afraid - that means at least 8 3-pointers (allowing for 2 points on every other hole, which is probably unlikely)

    Weird thread this.

You're off 11 which I assume means you've been playing a while. Yet you don't seem to know that not that many competitions out there are won with 38 points and many see people in the 40's.

You've had 3 scratches meaning you were heading for 44 points yourself if not more, yet only "a bandit" could have beaten your 38 points returned.

What handicap did you start playing with? Have you never managed to score more than 40 points before?

Started 19 last summer. Never managed to score 40..always around 30-37..sometimes less..hahah..
Just had a blinder of a day..bit of good luck as well..2 birdies with a help of the rub of the green. Hardly a BANDIT myself. The plan is to get to single figures this summer

Jaysus, how have you managed to get down to 11 then? That's 25 0.3's off the handicap. If you shoot 37 points you might get 0.3 or 0.6 off but all the scores in the low 30's would be 0.1 back.

You must be playing a lot of golf!!

is it just me or does something smell wrong???????????

what's the standard scr normally in your own club, find it hard to beleive you can go 8 shots in about 8 months without having 40 points

    come on ............fess up

Nothing smells wrong here seriously! I'm playing quite well. Played at least twice a week , sometimes 3 times. My club sss is around 73 but i don't get as much as a cut in my club. The majority of my cuts came from playing open competitions around the country.

There nothing dodgy here...haha..:):) . It was easier at the beginning but now it slow down the cuts. Did lots of short game pratice in the evenings. So it all coming into play now.

This gets better! So you never really get cut at your home club but you managed to get 8 shots off your handicap in what I assume was actually about 5 or 6 months, given that qualifying competitions would be hard to find over the last 3 months at least, solely through playing other places. How often do you play at your home club? Is it Slievnamon? Cheap membership but never play there or something?

Just checked my gui handicap sheet...started last year from 16.3 and now 11.2

Not 19...my apology!!! 19 was the at the end of the year b4 last year.

    My bad!!!:o:o:o:o:o

Also seen that most of the bigger cuts are played in V-Par competitions where i did well!!! Only had 3 0.1 backs!!
