    Hi,
I have just gotten an interview for the Doctorate in Education, Child and Adolescent Psychology in Queens Univeristy Belfast. I am wondering if anyone has experience of this interview process or interview for Educational Psychology in general? Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I have an interview coming up too - very nervous! They do give a little bit of info on how the day goes with the letter they sent out - would love a bit more though!

hey, I hope your interview went well for educational psychology?? Its an area i'd love to get into... could you give any advice on possible routes into it?? i curently have a bachelors in physical education and am doing a masters now in adapted physical education; specialising in psychology... is this sufficent to even get an interview u think? my thesis will focus on psychology but is this really enough for a phd in psychology? thanks so much for any advice you can give me...

    Hi Sean-og3,

you will need a qualification in psych that is recognised by the British Pscyhological Society (and Pschological Society of Ire) - this is called Graduate Basis for Recognition. This usually means an honours degree in psych or a postgrad dip in psych - with at least a 2:1 result. Check out the websites of either of the above societies. Also check out the Ed Psych entry requirements on UCD's site (in the School of Ed, postgrad, taught) or on Queen's (Sch of Psych, Doctorate in Ed, Child & Adolescent Psych, DECAP). The Queen's site has the most info.
I would think you will need an extra qualification in psych if you want to do Ed Psych, so you could be looking at doing the post grad dip in psych. You could do this full-time, or part-time while clocking up some teaching experience. Try to get some experience with special ed needs, etc. Best of luck.

BTW Floyd23 and maria_mc - hope you get good news re the decap interview.
