I was thinking about this last night (Yes! i have no life), and i have a few questions me needs answering!
Whats the deal with the mods on here?
How did you become mods in the first place?
Do you guys get paid for being mods?
Are you constantly monitoring boards at all hours?, say if i was on boards at 4am in the morning or something and posted a really offensive comment about someone, would a mod be monitoring even at that time in the morn?
Had a few more questions that i cant think of now, doh!:)

There are a few nocturnal dole-mods who fulfill that duty I believe.

After using the forum I moderator on for awhile, and feeling I was fitting in well and had something positive to contribute I simply PM'd the existing moderators and asked them to consider me as a replacement should one step down.

Really depends, but we're not required to do any more hours than any other user.

When I log on I check for reported posts and deal with them as required.

I have two very good forum to moderate on, and I like to give them 'soft touch' moderating - the guys are all good and don't act the sack, so life is easy moderating them.

Seriously though OP, modding is just something you do to help out a little. It's not a big deal.

Makes you wonder what would happen if the mods did ask daft.ie etc for something in return for what the do. What if they organised themselves into a union or something and flexed their muscles!
