    Hey everyone

Can anyone help me out here

I received a driving over three years ago and lost my licence (3rd Provisional) and gained myself endorsement along with that as a cherry on top.
The driving authority was Dublin county council motor Taxation.

The ban was up in January 2010 and I am just now deciding to get back on the road, with an older wiser head on my shoulders :)

I'm now living in the midlands and will be applying to Mullingar motor taxation office.

My question is If I was to omit the above info in my new application would they know through my pps number or other, and could I just apply as a first timer all over again with a clean slate.

No self righteous condescending replies, just helpful facts please

    Thanks in advance.

Your driving licence number would have this info attached to it.

You would have to do your test again then I would say plus they could find out by matching your name with your DOB etc.

So you reckon they might cope on, i was thinking that myself but was going to just risk it see what happens.

When they go to register a driver file with the RSA they'll know off your PPS number.

They could do you for fraud which would be worse. Just give them your details, it makes no difference anyway..

and they have your photo too to match.

The application form requires you to provide details of any endorsements or disqualifications. Providing misleading information (such as excluding these details) is a criminal offence under the Road Traffic Act.

Anyway since the ban has expired why bother with all the cloak and daggers stuff? Just learn from your past deeds, do the Theory test, get the full licence and get on with things.

It may depending on the company so shop around. You will have to declare your endorsements to the insurance company anyway.

Both. They hold all the driver files, and the ban will be on said file.

Yes, they have a driver database which they can (and do) search by PPS number, this would contain all of your past details. Insurance companies also have access to this database and can search it, I'm not sure if they check when people sign up, but they definitely do when there's a claim.

If you do apply and neglect to include the relevant details, the best possible outcome is that they will spot them, deny the application and get you to apply again. If somehow you did get the license without endorsements, and gained insurance on that basis, you would be utterly fcuked if there was ever an insurance claim against you, or even something minor happened like you got caught speeding by a gatso van.

Correct. I had a licence in another county which I had forgotten was within the five years prior to an application. They wrote and advised me of this and required I reapply.
