Hi im looking to rent a car next week, just had a look around, but i noticed alot of the t&cs say you need to have "held" you driving license for 2 years

i passed my test in February 2008, but since i lost the job and went back to college, the car went shortly after that, so i never bothered getting my license. Since you have to apply for it within 2 years, i sent away last month, and now have my full license.

does this mean i have only "held" my license since last month??
or have i had it since i passed my test?

Thanks, hope this is the correct forum for this thread.

You've only held your license for a month.

The cert you get when you pass is not a full license.

unfortunately you have only held a full licence for 1 month.

for some reason there is an arbitrary legal difference between passing the test, and emerging from the tax office 30 minutes later with your full licence.

What does it say in your licence?
Beside category B in the table there are dates (from and to).
    What do they say?

    20-1-2011

I assumed that this was the date it was held from. But I thought I'd check it out anyway.

Thought maybe that was specificly this licence card

    No.
That's the date you got your B licence.
The specific document you hold was issued on date specified in point 4 on the left side of your picture.

When you get a new document, date on it will change. But date beside category B will always stay the same.
