words literally fail me when i read article like this:

    http://www.debbieschlussel.com/33031/how-muslims-celebrate-victory-egypts-peaceful-moderate-democratic-protesters/
I just love it when the people of the profession of “the public’s right to know” suddenly want “privacy.” Tell it to your next interview subject, Lara. Of course CBS has no further comment. Wouldn’t wanna impugn the “peacefulness” of “Religion of Peace” animals, would we? Now, if they were Christians or Jews, well, then there would be comments galore.

So sad, too bad, Lara. No one told her to go there. She knew the risks. And she should have known what Islam is all about. Now she knows. Or so we’d hope. But in the case of the media vis-a-vis Islam, that’s a hope that’s generally unanswered.

This never happened to her or any other mainstream media reporter when Mubarak was allowed to treat his country of savages in the only way they can be controlled.

Now that’s all gone. How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation.”

Hope you’re enjoying the revolution, Lara! Alhamdilllullah [praise allah].

Don't think there's many countries in Europe where you'd still be working the day after posting guff like this..

    Colour me appalled :(

I can't say I'm shocked. People often say stupid things without thinking them through. In this case trying to equate reporting on the Egyptian Revolution, and not making the gorey details of being traumatically raped public knowledge. Nevermind that the article's stance assumes that all of the rapists were Muslims or devout followers of Islam. After all, everyone knows that all americans are devout Christians that eat babies.

Was she actually raped? From what I've read I thought they just grabbed at her?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,939 ✭✭✭ballsymchugh

don't think i read anywhere that she was actually raped.
    sexual assault =/= rape.

still though, you'd think there'd be a tad more solidarity between some female reporters on an issue like this.

    Overheal says she was raped

That piece is a rather vulgar and insensitive way of saying “WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE!” I don’t agree with Ms. Schlussel’s methods, but I do get the point she’s making.

Here’s a question I haven’t seen written about... yet anyway. Will these criminals who perpetrated this horrendous crime upon Ms. Logan be hunted down and jailed? Or will it all just be quietly swept under the rug, with these animals secretly perceived as heroes of the revolution? Sadly, I’m afraid we all know the answer to that, and an unfortunate precursor of what’s to come (although I do hope I'm wrong)

Out of the hundreds of thousands protesting, to think that there should be no criminals or bad apples is fairly naive.

If the assault happened at a Tea Party rally, would she be expressing the same opinion of all Tea Partiers?

It’s the action (or inaction) of the hundreds of thousands regarding this incident that interests me. Not necessarily the few bad apples.

It would never happen at a Tea Party rally... PERIOD! But for argument sake if it did, the makeup of the Tea Party members would dictate any animals perpetrating such a horrendous crime, like the one saw in Egypt, might never live to see the inside of a jail. A union rally on the other hand is another matter.

Jesus! You just trod on a landmine there, fellow.

So, you are saying to me that if there is a rally of 100,000 Tea Party people, that not one of them would ever engage in criminal behaviour such as sexual assault? It would never happen?

Not one of them has ever engaged in sexual assault?

Such as we are talking about which was witnessed in Egypt... NO!

FYI, I am a member of the Tea Party, and have been to several rallys. Here is what they REALLY LOOK LIKE.

you must be a paragon of righteousness and pass a test to prove so to join the tea party and attend their rallys.

Jesus, is that what they really look like?!?

I really had no idea they all looked so, well, normal. My view on them is completely different now. I mean, there's a guy there wearing a hat. I wore a hat once, we're so similar.

Once? You do need more than just a hat. :D

I know... Hard to believe if you only look at their portrayals by the agenda-driven “so-called” mainstream media. For the most part, we are just normal folk. But you do seem to always have that odd individual dressed up in a Uncle Sam costume - which the media gleams on. Sort of like that odd individual dressed all in green, with green dyed hair, at one of our St. Patrick’s Day parades. :)

I know 3, one is in fairness just a little mislead by the poison media she reads and takes as gospel, the other two are just selfish Aholes.

One is a brownshirt for Sheriff Arpaio and one of the most racist people I've ever spoken to, also one of the most misinformed individuals you could imagine. A foaming at the mouth freeper who would think the OP article is being kind.

Do you really know them, or do you just go by what they type on the internet? And if it’s just a internet thing, how do you know they are really members of the Tea Party… and which Tea Party (there are several organized ones)? People have a tendency to type things out in these forums that they really don’t honestly believe in. I’m not saying some can’t be a$$holes, but in reality if you really get to meet and know these people you would see they really are representative of what is good in America. For the most part, they just do not like the expansion government is making into our daily lives, and do not like the fiscal recklessness we’ve seen over the past decade (and yes, that does includes GW Bush).

I know them years through another site. Benn debating them so long we can probably guess eachothers next next post.
Never once heard them speak of stopping the spending and small govt until Obama was elected, even when Bush passed TARP 1.. not a peep.

I find that rather suspicious, to be honest.

Ahhhhh... Faux Tea Partiers. I take it they’re rather young.

Bush's passing of TARP is what started us. Obama's vision of big government is what energized us.

It was a terrible crime and I would like like no other that those scumbags be put away for a long long time and their sand papered balls be dipped in viniger BUT you cannot use a crime like this and paint an entire religion in the same light. If this article was about Jews you can be sure the ADL and every other Jewish group in the US would be up in arms about it.

Kinda sad really as she is a Jew herself and should realise that such hate is very destructive. No doubt a paid up member of AIPAC.

Can someone please show me where she is a “Fox Correspondent” as noted in this topic. I know she has appeared on CNN, ABC, and Fox News, but I don’t recall her being a correspondent for any of them.

Do you deny it? She is a hater of Muslim and Islam. Just browse over some of her blog. Hard -hard right wing who no doubts is available to the highest or lowest bidder for her commentary and analysis.

She is one step to the left from those baptist church guys who protest at soldiers funerals. I.e. full blown lunatic if you ask me.

On further investigation you may be right, she might be too extreme for them.

I'd be interested to know exactly what you mean here. Callousness regarding Lara Logan's trauma aside, this article characterises the entire Egyptian protest movement, and the entire Muslim faith, as "animals". Do you agree with that?

Would you care to condemn the following sentence:
This never happened to her or any other mainstream media reporter when Mubarak was allowed to treat his country of savages in the only way they can be controlled.

She has written columns for foxnews.com and is a regular contributor on most of Fox's big shows. So 'Fox Contributor'.
