Just asking if anyone knows when I can expect to receive my jobseekers allowance? Didn't ask cause the lady ate the head of the girl in front of me so I just kept my head low. All my documents are in and received the slips for next week.
So like, 10 days or is that stupid? It's probably more like a couple weeks???

It could be a few months, but if you go you your community welfare officer, they will give you a payment to keep you going till your jobseekers comes through. They will then recoup the payments from your backdated jobseekers allowance. You'll also need to bring certain documentation with you. If you check out supplementary welfare payment on www.welfare.ie it will give you a lot more info on it.

I would say with this economic environment months is more likely. If you in the city centre you can go the James Green Medical Centre's welfare office and look for emergency funds.

I was waiting a couple of months when I first signed on, got it all back dated though but the wait is a major killer...
